Ichibiki serves fantastic food at reasonable prices, so it will come as no surprise that it is extremely popular. Even before it opens in the mornings, there would already be a long line of hungry customers waiting to be seated. By far, their most popular dish is the una-don or grilled eel on rice. The smell of the eel crisping over the hot coals wafts out into the street and makes those waiting all the hungrier. For those interested in authentic Nagoyan cuisine, of which some can be more challenging to eat, the eel rice would probably be the preferred thing to try. There are other options, but most consist of meats or seafood resting on top of hot white rice, with options including tempura squid or chicken and egg. However, going to Ichibiki and not getting the eel is tantamount to visiting Paris and ignoring the Eiffel Tower.
