Located on Osaka's famous food street Dotonbori, Chibo is the perfect place for you to try some of the best okonomiyaki ("Japanese pancakes"), in town. Okonomiyaki is made using flour, eggs, cabbage and mountain yams, and then topped with okonomiyaki, plum, and mayonnaise sauces along with seaweed powder and dried bonito flakes. You can add extra toppings such as shrimp, chicken, beef, and an assortment of vegetables. While there are many okonomiyaki restaurants along Dotonbori, Chibo stands out as not just one of the best okonomiyaki restaurants on Dotonbori, but in all of Osaka.
First opened in 1967, there are now over 60 Chibo restaurants all over Japan. When you go to the original store, however, you can watch the chef cook your food on the ground floor, which is quite an experience.
