Daimaru Umeda Department Store

City centre department store specialising in luxury brands

Daimaru is one of Japan’s oldest department store chains and its location in Umeda, Osaka’s business district, is conveniently located next to the city’s train hub.

The recently renovated 15-storey tower is home predominately to big-name fashion, cosmetics and jewellery brands, including Prada, Jimmy Choo and Gucci stores.

Daimaru Umeda is also home to the Osaka Pokémon Center, with thousands of toys and trinkets from the series on sale, catering to Pokemon Go fans and fans of the classic series alike.

The 14th floor features a range of restaurants, including the Chiso Zammai buffet which offers all-you-can-eat shrimp and king crab when in season.
An upmarket food court occupies the basement floors, with vendors selling everything from traditional Japanese snacks to imported liquor.
